Cavallino Classic Modena: Life at Full Throttle

Under the golden sun of Modena and amidst the lush surroundings of Casa Maria Luigia—the private estate of three-Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura—the 2025 Cavallino Classic Modena unfolded as a masterwork of engineering excellence.

Now in its fifth edition, the event firmly etched its place as a crown jewel in the global celebration of Ferrari, not only as a marque but as a symbol of Italian identity and enduring innovation.

Icons Crowned Amid Timeless Beauty

This year’s Concorso d’Eleganza delivered a triumphant spectacle of design, history, and restoration mastery. The Best of Show Competition was awarded to the 1954 Ferrari 250 Monza #0442M, draped in Ferrari red and adorned with the famed decals of the Carrera Panamericana—an emblem of the Prancing Horse’s golden age of endurance racing. Its heritage and commanding presence moved both jury and audience, who also named it this year’s People’s Choice.

The Best of Show Gran Turismo went to the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Pinin Farina Cabriolet, chassis #2381, resplendent in Abete Metallizzato green with a refined beige leather interior, masterfully restored by Bacchelli & Villa. Meanwhile, the Best of Show Ferrari Classiche Certified was awarded to the 1966 275 GTB4 “long nose” #09021, the very model first displayed at the Paris Motor Show, representing a sublime convergence of rarity, provenance, and aesthetic perfection.

A record 26 Platinum Awards were presented, affirming the exceptional caliber of the entries. Additional honors included:

  • 1953 250 MM Spyder Vignale #0390 MM – The Ferrari 250 Award

  • 1967 275 GTB4 #10025 – The Ferrari 275 Award

  • 1973 Dino 246 GTS #06354 – The Ferrari Dino Award

  • 1992 F40 #93864 – The Ferrari Supercar Award

  • 2013 458 GTE #2862 – The Ferrari V8 Racing Award

  • 1989 F40 #82709 – The Ferrari Vintage Preservation Award

  • 2009 F430 GTC #2640 – The Best Ferrari Sound Award

  • 1951 212 Export Vignale #0106E – Dual recipient of The Ferrari Restoration Award and Cavallino Magazine Award

  • 1962 330 GTO #3765 – The Chairman Award

  • 365 GTB4 “Daytona” #14061 – The Spirit of Sally Award

Two model anniversaries were also celebrated in style. The Ferrari F50 Anniversary Award honored example #102474 from Trust Piero Ferrari, while the Ferrari 308 GTB 50th Anniversary Award went to the fiberglass-bodied #20275 owned by Japanese collector Shunji Hasumi.

Enzo’s Hometown, Ferrari’s Heartbeat

What makes Cavallino Classic Modena so unique is not only the cars, but its soul. “The style of Cavallino Classic Modena is widely recognized as unique,” remarked Luigi Orlandini, Chairman and CEO of Cavallino Inc., who underscored the event’s heightened refinement and growth. “A rigorously selected roster of world-class cars, a knowledgeable international audience, and an atmosphere that can only be found in Modena.”

Indeed, the intimacy and heritage of the region—birthplace of Enzo Ferrari—enrich every moment. Guests were welcomed on Friday with an alfresco evening affair: Chef Bottura’s culinary creations, Champagne by Moët & Chandon, and music from Alessandro Ristori, who revisited hits from Ferrari’s defining decades. The weekend culminated in a parade through Modena and a visit to the Museo Enzo Ferrari, where the past and present of Maranello’s finest converged.

Curated Luxury and Cultural Immersion

The event’s partners added further prestige. RM Sotheby’s served as Presenting Sponsor, while Riva displayed its restored Aquarama Special among the cars. Bang & Olufsen provided refined auditory ambiance, and the Azimut – Automobile Heritage Enhancement Fund, the world’s first regulated classic car investment fund, underlined the seriousness of collectible automotive assets.

Saturday’s concours judging was interwoven with tastings, artistic experiences, and storytelling—all curated to deepen the emotional link between car and collector.

The final gala dinner by Osteria Francescana transformed gastronomy into a tribute, as only Bottura could conceive.

A New Benchmark for Automotive Excellence

As the 2025 Cavallino Classic Modena drew to a close, it left behind more than polished chrome and accolades. It reaffirmed Ferrari not only as an automotive legend but as a living symbol of Italian artistry, innovation, and passion. It reminded attendees—especially those privileged enough to be invited—that true excellence is born not just of horsepower or provenance, but of experience, intimacy, and emotion.

Cavallino Classic Modena 2025 was not just a concours, it was a celebration of life at full throttle.
