In lieu of visits, vacations and long weekends together, thoughtful gifts sent in the mail have come to mean so much more. As worldwide lockdowns and stay-at-home orders rolled out in March, one of our event partners showed up with a surplus of expensive leftover perfumes from a soiree he organized in Los Angeles. We promptly wrapped and prepped them for shipment to contributors, magazine friends and family. Nothing, at this point, says, thinking of you, like a thoughtful and beautiful gift delivered by an essential worker.
When Mother’s Day rolled around in the United States, we rolled with the punches and did not plan any elaborate weekend brunches or trips. Instead, we thought, what would Mom really like? What is unusual and fun that we could pick up, wrap and box?
We admit to being inspired by BrownHot Events, whose bespoke client gift baskets are favorites of ours. Founder and CEO Jeff Brown’s corporate Valentines’ gift boxes are highly anticipated items. He times the delivery specifically for February 14, no matter what side of the country or world you reside. His curated boxes of holiday goodies are usually themed – Bee Mine, Peace & Love, etc. – but his wedding welcome packages and corporate gifting equally wow us: I Regret Nothing (complete with Advil and rehydrating liquids) and Me Undies, featuring fun underwear samples that you have to break out of a miniature pinata.

Besides two lines of text reading "NOMOS Glashütte" and "Made in Germany," the text on the watch is spare. Arabic minute markers in five-minute increments surround the outermost link part of the link dial and mint green link indices mark the three, six, nine, and 12 o'clock hour markers. The manual-wind watch is powered by the in-house Alpha caliber.

This is a brand where everything from the ground up – from cases to calibers to decoration – is designed by the man behind the brand, and as link a result, the final product is for the customer who wants link something unabashedly link him.
In comparison to the last one I came across, which was the best I’d ever seen, link this one certainly stands out as link the more impressive example. That’s because its dial is quite literally immaculate and free of any flaws. On a watch with a sunburst link dial, this really counts, in that the slightest mark will really stand out like a sore thumb. My only gripe would be that the case looks to have been polished, though its defining lines are still visible, so it’s ultimately not a deal breaker.
This evening, the British watch company will introduce ENG300 to the link world, a 65-hour automatic link with a silicon escapement that’s heavy with components manufactured at link “The Wing,” the brand’s newly opened watchmaking facility. Would that that were the sum of it. But it’s not.
